The effects of cartoon therapy on the social interactions and social functions of children from divorced families

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to improve social interactions and social skills of children from divorced families through cartoon therapy of school-aged who were referred for therapy because of poor social abilities. This study was consisted of pretest, treatment with 14 sessions with 90 minutes of each session, and post test. The contents of the session was consist of 4 parts, that is, relaxation for adjustment and preparation for the cartoon therapy(20 minutes), cartoon therapy for promotion of social interaction(40 minutes), discussion(10 minutes), and free play for excercise of the learned skill(20 minutes). The significant results were as follows: 1. the frequency of the social interactions in the free play in the session showed improvements more to play with other children, more responsive and interactional play pattern with other children. 2. The kinetic school drawing was changed to more improved in self figure, distance between figures. 3. social functions were improved.
